MicroInvestments.in is committed to protecting user privacy. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, use, store, process, and protect your personal information when you use our educational personal finance, financial literacy, and quantitative calculation platform.

We adhere strictly to data minimization: we do not collect unnecessary personal or financial credentials (such as PAN, Aadhaar, bank account numbers, credit/debit card numbers, or investment account passwords).

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with our Platform, we collect the following categories of information:

• Account Information: Name, email address, password hash, and optional profile settings when you register an account.
• Calculator & Educational Tool Inputs: Numerical inputs entered into calculators (e.g., monthly SIP amount, loan principal, interest rate assumptions, goal target amounts). These inputs are processed locally or in-session for scenario generation.
• AI Assistant Interactions: Queries, scenario parameters, and conversation messages sent to MicroInvestments AI for processing educational responses.
• Payment & Transaction Information: If you purchase paid features (e.g., ₹1 report unlock), payments are processed directly by PCI-DSS compliant third-party gateways (e.g., Razorpay). We receive transaction confirmations and email references; we do NOT store credit/debit card numbers, UPI PINs, or banking credentials.
• Analytics & Technical Log Information: Anonymized browser type, operating system, IP address (anonymized/truncated), pages visited, duration, and session timestamps.
• Cookies & Local Storage Tokens: Technical cookies and local storage items for session management, security tokens, and consent preferences.

3. Purposes of Processing

We process collected information strictly for legitimate operational purposes:

• Providing, rendering, and calculating financial educational scenarios and tool outputs.
• Delivering MicroInvestments AI educational responses to user queries.
• Processing account registration, login authentication, and password security.
• Fulfilling digital service orders and payment confirmations via third-party gateways.
• Improving tool math, website performance, user experience, and platform security.
• Complying with applicable legal, accounting, and tax obligations under Indian law.

4. AI Processing & Data Isolation

When you interact with MicroInvestments AI, your query and provided contextual inputs are processed securely to generate educational explanations. MicroInvestments AI is configured to provide general education only and does NOT generate personalized investment recommendations or sell your query data.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We DO NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial data to third-party advertisers, brokers, or mutual fund distributors.

We share information only with trusted service providers who assist in operating our platform under strict confidentiality agreements:

• Payment Gateways (Razorpay): For payment processing and transaction verification.
• Hosting & Cloud Infrastructure (Vercel / Cloud Providers): For website hosting, SSL encryption, and server operations.
• Database Providers (Prisma / Managed Postgres): For encrypted user data storage.

6. Data Retention & Security

We retain account data as long as your account remains active. Transaction logs are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax laws. Technical server logs are purged after 90 days.

We implement industry-standard TLS encryption for data in transit and AES-256 encryption for database storage. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure, and users use the platform acknowledging standard network risks.

7. User Rights & Data Deletion Requests

Under applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct or update inaccurate account information.
• Request full deletion of your account and associated personal data.
• Withdraw consent for optional analytics or marketing cookies.
